K&P Rail Trail

The K&P Trail is a recreational trail that runs along the old Kingston and Pembroke Railway (K&P) bed. The K&P was abandoned by its owner, Canadian Pacific Railway, between 1962 and 1986.

The trail starts in Kingston just east of Sydenham Road and Highway 401, at Little Cataraqui Creek. It runs 15 kilometres north, through farmland and some wooded areas to Orser Road. Sections of the trail are shared with the Rideau Trail.

The railbed is owned by the City of Kingston and overseen by the K&P Trail Group, which is working to extend a right of way for the trail north to Harrowsmith and eventually Sharbot Lake.
